Hey ChainPoints,

We are on the road for several weeks training in IL, CO, PA, MA and VA. It¹s
a busy time of year...

Check out the article for this week below about a chainsaw and chain combo
that is awesome...

Because we are out and about for a while... The eStore is somewhat on a long
lunch hour. I have a few items with me and will ship those as we can
complete orders. The Gransfors items will be shipped from their website
store so those will also be filled quickly but with some items it may be Nov
10th before they are boxed. Please if you have questions on ship times
contact us at info at forestapps.com before placing the order. Sorry for any
inconvenience this may cause but it is hard to travel for 6 weeks, train and
fill orders.

I appreciate your reply¹s and comments to recent articles. That¹s what they
are all about, written to spark some thought process, we can all learn from.
Thank you for taking the time...

Training requests for the first of 2011 have been coming in and we are
doing the best to accommodate everyone. If you are planning chain saw
training, sharpening or two-cycle troubleshooting workshops for the first
half of 2011 please contact Laura so tentative dates can be discussed.

Thank you all for a great Summer of training and now we are glad the Fall
dates and cooler temperatures are going well.

Tools of the StormŠ
By Tim Ard, Forest Applications Training, Inc.

The past two weeks on the training trail, I have been using an awesome chain
saw combination for handling storm clean up tasks. The saw is the Stihl
MS230. It is a quite impressive small saw. You can check out all the saw
details at http://www.stihlusa.com/chainsaws/MS230CBEDURO.html . The saw
came equipped with the carbide tipped Stihl Duro saw chain. It is a rugged
chain and could be a loop that lasts a long, long time for the homeowner and
even be a great combination for storm cleanup for government agencies.

Now for the combination I have been using. I mounted an Oregon PowerSharp
system on the MS230. This is a top sharpening saw chain that is different to
look at, but is really different when you put it to the wood. This stuff is
smooth and cuts like crazy. You can find out more at
http://www.PowerSharp.com

I ran the saw for five tanks of TruFuel50 and just began to feel the cutting
speed dropping. I then clamped on the sharpening device and gave it a 3
second hit of PowerSharp. I was right back to work at full cutting capacity.
This product is an unbelievable accessory to any small chain saw that uses
extended pitch 3/8 saw chain.
